  *   Baylor defeated Kansas, 86-66, in its Big 12 Conference play opener on Saturday afternoon at Allen Fieldhouse in Lawrence, Kan.
  *   The Bears shot 45.9% from the floor and 42.9% from the arc.
  *   BU beat KU in the 50th all-time matchup to continue growing a dominant record of 41-9, while taking the third win over the Jayhawks in the first game of league play.
  *   Saturday was the Bears’ 19th lid-lifting win in conference play since the turn of the century, moving to 19-6 since 2000-01, while also picking up the ninth win for openers on the road in that span.
  *   The seven-game win streak is BU’s best of the season, dating back to the 73-62 win over Villanova in The Bahamas.
  *   Baylor held Kansas to 32.8 from the floor, but they sunk 23-of-30 from the free throw line (76.6%).
  *   Eight turnovers tie the season-low for the Bears, as they also only gave the ball back to Southern Miss eight times in the first round of the Battle 4 Atlantis.
  *   11 blocks tie the season-best with BU’s most recent game against Utah Tech.

  *   Nicki Collen is 85-30 in her fourth season leading the Bears, 38-17 in Big 12 play.
  *   Collen is 19-2 in the month of December, undefeated this year at 5-0.
  *   Baylor picked up their 17th win at Allen Fieldhouse, returning to the win column after last season’s 87-77 win.
  *   Sarah Andrews was the leading scorer for BU for the second time this season, sinking a season-best five triples off nine attempts. The fifth-year senior ended the game with 19 points and six assists.
  *   Aaronette Vonleh scored 16 points and claimed four rebounds before fouling out after 24 minutes on the court.
  *   Yaya Felder also claimed 16 points with three from the arc, paired with a block and three assists in her eighth double-figure game.
  *   Jada Walker reentered the double-digit point column after two games away, hitting 15 with seven assists.
  *   Bella Fontleroy made it back-to-back games with double-digit points with an even 10, paired with eight rebounds.
  *   Darianna Littlepage-Buggs was two points away from another double-double, scoring eight with 13 rebounds, the most in the game.
  *   Baylor started Jada Walker, Sarah Andrews, Darianna Littlepage-Buggs, Aaronette Vonleh and Bella Fontleroy for the 13th time this season in as many games.

     *   Walker is 37-10, Andrews is 82-31, Littlepage-Buggs is 49-17, Fontleroy is 32-12 and Vonleh is 11-2 as starters at Baylor.

  *   After a break for the Christmas holiday, Baylor returns to the Foster Pavilion to host Oklahoma State on New Year’s Day at 3 p.m. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.
