Reminder that John Morris, Baylor’s Assistant Athletics Director for Broadcasting and the Voice of the Bears, is to be honored at the 66th National Football Foundation & College Football Hall of Fame Awards Dinner, Presented by Las Vegas as the Bellagio Hotel & Casino on Tuesday.

The ESPN+ broadcast of the NFF Dinner is slated to start at 8 p.m. CT, with Morris scheduled to be honored approximately 8:30 p.m.

IRVING, Texas (Nov. 5, 2024) – The National Football Foundation (NFF) & College Hall of Fame announced today that legendary play-by-play announcer John Morris, who has been “The Voice of the Baylor Bears” for more than three decades, will be the recipient of the 2024 NFF Chris Schenkel Award. He will officially be honored Dec. 10 during the 66th NFF Annual Awards Dinner Presented by Las Vegas at the Bellagio Hotel & Casino.



The full-time play-by-play announcer for Baylor football and men’s basketball, Morris, affectionately known as “J-Mo,” has been the signature voice of Baylor Athletics for 30 seasons, broadcasting 11 different sports during his 38 years at the school.



“John Morris has had an astounding run at Baylor, connecting with fans and engaging them with his positive insights for nearly four decades,” said NFF President & CEO Steve Hatchell. “Universally respected among sports broadcasters as one of the best in the business, he is often praised for being an even better person.
