PHOENIX, Ariz. – For the second time this week, Baylor men’s golf will be in action when they tee it up in round one of the Thunderbird Collegiate on Friday morning at Papago Golf Club.

The Thunderbird is the final event before the Big 12 Championship for the Bears. Head coach Mike McGraw wants to see the players use this event to springboard themselves into the postseason.

"At this point of the year, you are setting the stage for momentum headed into the postseason,” he said. “We had so many bright spots this week, so I'm really looking forward to seeing what these guys can do in Arizona.”

Johnny Keefer will play in the anchor position, coming off a tie for eighth earlier this week at the Aggie Invitational. Keefer finished tied for seventh at the Thunderbird Collegiate in his debut last year, highlighted by a hole-in-one in the second round.

Drew Wrightson will remain at the No. 2 spot this week after a tie for 30th in Bryan. Wrightson finished tied for 75th in his debut at the Thunderbird last season.

Tyler Isenhart had a strong showing at the Aggie Invitational with a tie for 17th and will move up to the No. 3 spot this week. The senior entered the season with three top-25 finishes and already has five in 2022-23.

Zach Heffernan finished tied for 30th at the Aggie and will play at the No. 4 spot this week. Heffernan will be making his second appearance at the Thunderbird after finishing 68th a season ago.

Trey Bosco will play at No. 5 this week. The junior improved with each round at the Aggie, highlighted by a final-round 71 as he hopes to carry that momentum out west.

Luke Dossey will play as an individual for the second-straight week. Dossey also improved on each round at the Aggie, putting an exclamation mark on his week with a final-round 69 at Traditions Golf Club.
