WACO, Texas – Baylor women's golf graduate Gurleen Kaur has been selected as the Big 12 Conference Women's Golf Co-Scholar-Athlete of the Year, as announced Thursday by the conference office. She shared the honor with Texas Tech’s Amy Taylor and Texas’ Sara Kouskova.

Kaur joins Elodie Chapelet (2021) and Laura Lonardi (2015 and 2016) to give the program a trio of Big 12 Scholar-Athlete of the Year award winners. With four Big 12 Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors, Baylor women's golf ties the baseball program with four such honorees. Baylor's 28 all-time Big 12 Scholar-Athlete of the Year selections are second-most in conference history.

A Houston, Texas native, Kaur graduated in May with a degree in marketing and a 3.27 GPA. She also was named to the Academic All-Big 12 First Team, the All-Big 12 Team, WGCA and Golfweek All-America Second Teams.

On the course, Kaur tied a program record with 37 rounds played on her way to setting the program record with 145 career rounds played. The senior finished the year with a team-leading stroke average of 72.03, which fell short of the program mark she set last year at 71.97. Kaur owns three of the top-10 single-season stroke-average marks in BU history, and all five of her seasons rank in the top 22. She also led the team with 21 rounds at par or better, six top-5 finishes, seven top-10 finishes and nine top-25 finishes.
With a stellar senior season, Kaur became the first player in program history to take home All-American Honors in four different seasons and be named an All-American in three-consecutive seasons (2020, 2021 and 2022). In total, she garnered five All-American honors, the second-most in program history behind only Hayley Davis’ six.
Over her Baylor career, Kaur recorded 70 of 145 rounds at par or better and counted 89.8% of her rounds toward the team score. She placed top-25 individual in 35 of 48 tournaments in her career.
BU returns four players with NCAA Championship experience. Britta Snyder, Rosie Belsham, Hannah Karg and BaiMai Seema played in the NCAA Championship last May. They will also be joined by East Tennessee State transfer Sera Hasegawa and talented freshman Silje Ohma. The Bears open their fall slate at the Schooner Fall Classic.
