BRYAN, Texas– Johnny Keefer and Mark Reppe were on pace to lead the Baylor men’s golf team in round two of the Aggie Invitational when play was suspended due to darkness on Saturday evening.

Mark Reppe paced the Bears for much of the day on Saturday after playing his first 11 holes at 1-under par before double bogeys at Nos. 12 and 14 and bogeys at Nos. 15 and 17 saw him finish round one with a 5-over 77. The senior started strong in the second round as well, with birdies at Nos. 4, 6 and 8. But a bogey at No. 7 and a double-bogey at No. 9 brought him back to an even-par 36 on his outward nine. Reppe then strung together six-straight pars before a bogey at No. 16 just before play was called for the day, putting him in a tie for 16th.

Johnny Keefer is one stroke back of Reppe with three holes to play in his second round. Keefer's first round started slowly with bogeys at Nos. 2, 3, 9 and 10. After a double-bogey at the par-4 13th, the junior was 6-over for the day. He played the final five holes at 2-under par, highlighted by an eagle at the par-5 15th to finish round one at 4-over to lead the Bears. Round two had a similar start for the San Antonio native with four bogeys at Nos. 4, 7, 9 and 11, but once again, he took advantage of the 15th with a birdie just before the horn sounded, suspending play.

Playing as an individual, Luke Dossey finished both rounds on Saturday in a tie for 22nd. The junior started strong, playing the first 13 holes at even par, but four bogeys in his final five holes dropped him to 3-over after round one. Dossey fell to eight over after three bogeys and a double bogey through his first 11 holes of the second round but birdied the par-4 12th and parred his way in, to finish at 7-over entering round three.

Luke Morgan finished Saturday in a tie for 42nd with a 12-over 156 through two rounds. The sophomore struggled early in round one, playing his first seven holes at five-over-par. Morgan righted the ship with two birdies in his next three holes, followed by seven-straight pars before a double-bogey six at the 18th hole dropped him to six-over. Morgan carded seven bogeys in his first 16 holes of round two, but a birdie at No. 17 brought him back to 6-over for the round and 12-over for the tournament.

Freshman Drew Wrightson is in a tie for 56th with two rounds completed. Following an opening-round 81, he improved by three shots with a 6-over 78 in round two, highlighted by a birdie at the par-4 12th hole.

Fellow freshman Zach Heffernan had an adventurous start to his tournament with three birdies, two pars, two bogeys and a double on his opening nine. After a 2-over 38 on the front, the Boerne native shot a 5-over 41 on the back to finish with a 7-over 79. Heffernan shot a 15-over 87 in round two.

Host Texas A&M leads the tournament following a 6-over 582 through the first two rounds, leading Arkansas by nine shots and Texas Tech by 12. A&M's Walker Lee holds the individual lead through two rounds over Tech's Ludvig Aberg. Baylor will be six shots back of ninth-place Little Rock when play resumes.
