WACO, Texas– Baylor women’s golf signed Silje Ohma to its 2022 signing class, head coach Jay Goble announced Wednesday.
The Bergen Norway native, signed a National Letter of Intent and will join the Bears for the 2022-2023 season after a decorated junior career in Norway. She won the Norwegian Junior Championship in 2020 on the way to securing The Srixon Tour Order of Merit. Ohma also represented Team Norway in the European Girls Championship in 2019 and again in 2021.
“We are very happy to announce the signing of Silje and continue our tradition of recruiting the best talent from around the world,” Goble said. “Golf is a global game, and we are continuing to see great players emerge around the world. We believe Silje is going to be a great player for our team in the future.”
Ohma is currently ranked 401st in the World Amateur Golf Rankings with four wins and 20 top-10 finishes.
“Silje possesses the talent to be as good as she wants to be,” Goble added. “We believe, with all Baylor has to develop our student-athletes, she will thrive here.”
BU wrapped finished its fall season strong with a win at the Rainbow Wahine Invitational, claiming each of the top-three individual spots in the process. They will return to action on Jan. 22, 2022, at the Desert Match Play in Scottsdale, Ariz., at Kierland Golf Club.
