Thank you for posting this clip for us again, Knut. Personally, I was quite pleased to hear Colin Douglas (Edwin) give full credit to the writing -- and particularly series creator John Finch -- causing the Ashton family to come alive for viewers and making them seem so very real. How wonderful it was to see members of the cast simply being themselves in front of the camera -- and at a time that was close enough to the actual filming of "A Family at War" that they looked and sounded just like they do on screen.

Hi,

Thanks Lesley for mentioning the Norwegian talk show with the AFAW stars. I was actually thinking about it the other day, and thought I could post the link to it again for those who haven’t seen it or would like to visit it again. The host, Erik Bye, was a famous TV personality I Norway and his Saturday night’s TV show was watched by “everyone”. I remember he had lots of foreign guests, like Josefine Baker, Danny Kaye and “Festu”s from Gunsmoke (who was extremely popular in Norway).

AFAW was shown on NRK TV between April 1970 and February 1972, I was 10-12 years at the time and I don’t think I missed an episode 😊.
