Hi All

I wasn’t sure myself  was in 2 minds about this as they were both talking when they went to Edwin’s parents house to clear things  up and close the house.  it appeared they were okay then as the lines was open to communication. I thought there was something else going on with Jean like she was on the brink of  a mental breakdown but there was no medical term for it in those day,  there was other pressures going on in the family not just with Robert’s death. Her mum laid up like a vegetable.  Margaret having a baby out of wedlock her mother was disappointed with this and John prisoner of war presumed dead and I think Jean believed like Mrs Porter that John was coming back . Having to keep secrets from Mr & Mrs porter about the pregnancy and where Margaret was staying . Then Margaret injured after the air raid.  Margaret wanting to stay with her lover her mother could not accept this.   David not always doing the right thing not taking responsibility was another worry . Then John returning and having to continue with secrets I think it wore heavy on her . She disappeared showing some kind of mental illness  at the site of her parents home more with her memory than being depression  and took a stroke also.  When she came around she still had confusion  she mistook her brother Sefton for her father and asked for a peach or something then died. I Don’t think the death of Robert alone was the cause of her own death more a contributory factor .
