I think if I'd been Jean, I wouldn't have been able not to blame Edwin to
some extent. And did grief partly cause her death? 
I'm catching up on series from the 1970s I missed!

Yes you are right about the tv dramas are not the same, I think Endeavour is
about as good as it gets. it was sad that Edwin and Jean could not sort
themselves out. I think Robert had a lot to do with it. It was a great
serious i watch it often.
