Office of Institutional Reporting, Research, and Information Systems (IRRIS) | The University of Texas at Austin
Job Title:   Research/Survey Project Coordinator

Purpose of position: Primary IRRIS staff resource for surveys administered by The University of Texas at Austin. This position will also be a staff resource for communicating office initiatives and project results to University stakeholders and high-level administrators.

Essential functions: Prepare seed data required for sampling and/or survey administration; develop sampling design; market/solicit participation in surveys (e.g. advertise, incentivize); provide templates for and oversee all communications associated with survey administration; account for and solve problems caused by sampling issues, response rates, technical or data issues; evaluate surveys, methods, and performance to improve future surveys. Analyze data using statistical software and techniques, including descriptive statistics, regression analyses, and multi-level modeling; analyze data using Tableau; work with data from multiple sources to generate multi-faceted datasets; provide information to metadata systems and support the integration of disparate data sources; ensure documentation and the safekeeping of data and finished products and their distribution. Conduct background research on and provide context for topics, including comparisons where appropriate; generate messaging; conduct and provide comprehensive analysis/interpretation to various stakeholders; formally present findings; respond to questions and ad hoc requests. Serve as a liaison to national consortiums, other UT Austin offices, departments, organizations (e.g., colleges, student and faculty groups), UT System, and the media; seek Institutional Review Board (IRB) approval, where appropriate; collaborate with institutional leaders and generate buy-in; assist in the planning, coordination, and management of projects.
