Colleagues at four-year institutions,

Your institutions will very soon be implementing the requirements of Senate Bill 11 (often called the "campus carry" bill). For the benefit of the two-year institutions that will be following in your footsteps at this time in 2017, please share the process you followed to identify the reasonable rules for gun-free zones on your campuses.

In particular:

* How large was your task force tackling this initiative, and who were the members (by role)?

* Which methods (surveys, focus groups, town hall meetings, other?) did you use to engage specific campus constituencies?

* The bill requires colleges and universities to consult with faculty, staff, and students; did you pursue engagement of other constituencies in addition to those noted in the wording of the bill? Which ones, and which methods did you use to gather their input?

Please send your responses directly to me at joe.baumann at blinn.edu<mailto:joe.baumann at blinn.edu>. I will compile and share with the TAIR Listserve.

Thank you for your help!
