Hello,
The Space Mission Challenges for Information Technology (SMC-IT) 2017 conference is only 3 weeks away, to be held on the beautiful campus of the University of Alcála in Spain (near Madrid). The focus of SMC-IT is exclusively on space information systems (both onboard and ground) covering hardware and software topics and emerging trends in technology.
We have a fantastic set of keynote speakers, including Dr. Mateo Valero (Director of the Barcelona Supercomputing Center), Mr. Larry James (Deputy Director of the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory), Mr. Ranebo (Head of the Fluid Science Payload Section, in the Directorate of Human Spaceflight and Robotic Exploration Programs at the European Space Agency), and Dr. Rupak Biswas (Director of Exploration Technology at NASA Ames).
The papers, posters, and workshops have been approved and the technical agenda is complete. The workshops cover Augmented/Virtual Reality, Space Inter-Networking (and DTN), Status and Trends in On-board processors, Agile Development, and more.
Tours are arranged for the NASA Deep Space Network and a historical tour of Alcála de Henares.
Please take a look at the web site: http://smc-it.org and join us if you can!
Thanks,
-Brian
Deputy Chair, SMC-IT 2017
