</b>No. 8-seed Baylor baseball erased a six-run deficit to send its quarterfinal matchup against top-seeded Kansas to extra innings, but ultimately fell, 8-7, to the Jayhawks on Thursday afternoon at Surprise Stadium in Surprise, Ariz.</span></p>

 be chased from the mound in a 6-0 ballgame. That’s when the tides started to change, as BU put up a tally in the seventh, four in the eighth and two in the ninth to tie it before the walk-off blast.</span></p>

 four frames. Wallace racked up four strikeouts and had been tagged for just three hits, including the home run, to keep BU within striking distance in the early going.</span></p>

 a pair of hit batsmen, Baylor didn’t have much other traffic on the bases its first two trips through the lineup. Freshman infielder Cole Lanclos singled with two outs in the top of the fifth, but he’d be left on base as well following a groundout that ended

 the inning.</span></p>

 Wallace exited, a bases-loaded walk and wild pitch accounted for the other tallies in the frame and extended the league champion’s advantage to 6-0.</span></p>

 who was 0-for-3 to that point, shot a double to the right-center gap and chased in two runs to give the Bears some life, down 7-3. After a pitching change, freshman outfielder Dylan Perez grounded one sharply off the first baseman’s glove for a two-run error,

 bringing BU within two at 7-5.</span></p>

 its final trip to the plate. It was Lanclos again to ignite things with his second knock of the day, then a walk and wild pitch gave the Bears two runners in scoring position with two down. Riebock fell behind in the count 0-2, but singled sharply into right

 field to bring Lanclos and pinch-runner Bo Caraway around from second, tying the game at 7-7.</span></p>

 and makes Baylor special. Our coaches and the people who pour into these guys, I love every one of them. And I’m a little emotional about that too. We missed Coach Jim Blair today because of a family emergency. We’re lifting him and his family up in prayer.”</span></p>
