Shaylon Govan picked up the 15<sup>th</sup> All-America honor in Baylor history, voted to the National Fastpitch Association (NFCA) All-America first team, announced by the organization on Wednesday afternoon during a press conference at the Women’s College
World Series. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoBodyText"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif;color:black;background:white"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoBodyText"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif;color:black;background:white">Govan is the first unanimous first team All-American selection for the Bears and is just the third first-team selection in Baylor history. This
marks Govan’s second-straight year being named NFCA All-America as she earned second-team honors during the 2023 season.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoBodyText"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif;color:black;background:white">She is one of just three Bears to receive multiple All-American honors, joining Brette Reagan (three-time honoree) and Whitney Canion (two-time
honoree). <o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoBodyText"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif;color:black;background:white">A sophomore from Katy, Texas, Govan led BU with a .444 batting average, 11 home runs and 35 RBIs on the season. This is her second-straight season
to reach double-digit home runs, and she holds a .739 slugging percentage, which is good for 4<sup>th</sup> all-time at Baylor.

<p class="MsoBodyText"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif;color:black;background:white">In her second season with the Bears, Govan started in 58 games, missing just one due to injury. She etched her name into the Baylor record books,
setting single-season records in walks drawn (48) and on-base percentage (.579) and was second all-time in batting average (.444). Govan also ranked second nationally in on-base percentage, seventh nationally in batting average and 11<sup>th</sup> nationally
in walks per game.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoBodyText"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif;color:black;background:white">She helped lead the Bears to their first Super Regional appearance since 2017, including 26 games against ranked opponents. Govan hit the three-run
homer that propelled the Bears to a 5-3 upset victory ove No. 4 Florida in game two of the Supers. She hit .444 during postseason play with three home runs, a double and seven RBIs.

<p class="MsoBodyText"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif;color:black;background:white">Becoming Baylor’s top power hitter, five of Govan’s 11 home runs this season were multi-run blasts.
