<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;color:black">BYU jumped out to the 2-0 lead in the bottom half of the first after a two-run bomb over the wall in left field, but Baylor forced two groundouts to end the inning.

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;color:black">Baylor was able to break the game open in the top of the second when back-to-back walks started the inning before a single through the left side off the bat of Taylor Strain brought
home the Bears’ first run. Ashlyn Wachtendorf then walked to load the bases before BYU recorded their first out of the inning. With the bases full of Bears, Pilon singled to left field and brought home all three runs to put the Bears up 4-2.

Pilon laid down a bunt to the pitcher that allowed the runner to come home from second after a throwing error. Govan then singled to put runners on the corners before Sydney Collazos hit a single to shallow center field, which brought home a run.
