Govan hit a three-run opposite-field home run to give Baylor the 3-0 lead. Sydney Collazos followed up the home run with a double and Ana Watson was hit by a pitch before a call to the bullpen was made. After two-outs, Kaci West singled to load the bases before

to load the bases, before a wild pitch brought home Wilson. Watson walked to reload the bases, before Emily Hott laced a double into center field, bringing home two more runs. The Bears then took the 8-2 lead after a groundout in the second.
