<p class="MsoNormal"><b>AMES, Iowa – </b>Baylor soccer defeated Iowa State, 3-2, Thursday night at the Cyclone Sports Complex.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">The Bears who are now 4-7-2 on the season, 2-3-0 in conference play, netted the game winner in the 87<sup>th</sup> minute to secure the win.

<p class="MsoNormal">After giving up a goal in the 5<sup>th</sup> minute, the Bears found their rhythm as Gabby Mueller put a shot on goal before Reneta Vargas scored her fourth goal of the season off of a pass from Ashley Merrill in the 19<sup>th</sup> minute.

<p class="MsoNormal">Iowa state took the lead again in the late in the first half off of a corner kick, to go up 2-1.

<p class="MsoNormal">Not wasting any time, the Bears answered five minutes later with a goal of their own in the 44<sup>th</sup> minute. Elizabeth Kooiman lined up a shot from distance, on an assist from Sarah Hornyak, and found the back of the net for her
first goal of the season. <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Kooiman carried the momentum into the second half getting off shots but the Bears weren’t able to find the go-ahead goal until the 87<sup>th</sup> minute. With the game knotted at 2-2, leading goal scorer, Vargas, found her fifth goal of
the season with the help of Ashley Merrill, for the second time. <o:p></o:p></p>
