</span></b><span style="font-size:11.0pt">Baylor senior Alicia Herrero received a pair of Texas Region awards by the ITA, the organization announced on Monday. Herrero received the Cissie Leary Sportsmanship Award as well as the Arthur Ashe Sportsmanship and
Leadership Award.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoBodyText" align="left" style="text-align:left"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">Herrero becomes the first Bear since Ema Burgic in 2015 to receive the Arthur Ashe Award and the first Baylor player since Theresa Van Zyl in 2018 to bring home the Cissie
Leary Sportsmanship Award.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoBodyText" align="left" style="text-align:left"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">The Manuel Valencia, Spain, native finished her Baylor career strong. In the fall of 2021, Herrero advanced to the ITA Fall Nationals in singles and doubles where she
was a national semifinalist alongside her partner, Mel Krywoj.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoBodyText" align="left" style="text-align:left"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">Krywoj and Herrero would go on to be the first duo in Baylor history to be ranked No. 1 in the nation. The duo were later named ITA All-Americans and members of the First-Team
All-Big 12. They advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
