</span></b><span style="font-size:11.0pt">Baylor track and field had 11 total student-athletes advance to the next rounds in Day Two of the NCAA West Preliminaries, with 9 to the quarterfinals and 2 with a ticket punched to Hayward Stadium in Eugene.

<p class="MsoBodyText" align="left" style="text-align:left"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">“Solid job today from the ladies,” said head coach Michael Ford. “We had a lot advance to the quarterfinals on Saturday. Caira (Pettway) and Alex (Madlock) did a super
job in the long jump to advance to Eugene.”<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoBodyText" align="left" style="text-align:left"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">Madlock fought back on her last attempt of the long jump to land a 20-9 ¼ mark for sixth place, while Pettway finished ninth behind her jump of 20-7. Both competitors
qualified through to the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore., next month.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoBodyText" align="left" style="text-align:left"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">Ackera Nugent and Alexis Duncan both finished top 3 in their respective heats of the 100-meter hurdles to advance to Saturday’s quarterfinal. Nugent clocked a 13.17-second
race, followed by Duncan in 13.32 seconds. Kennedy Bailey just missed that top-24 group, finishing in 27<sup>th</sup> with a time of 13.57 seconds.

<p class="MsoBodyText" align="left" style="text-align:left"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">Two more Bears advanced to the next round of competition on Saturday in the 100 meters. Pettway put together the fifth-fastest time of the day, finishing in 11.33 seconds,
while Sydney Washington finished in 15<sup>th</sup> after 11.48. Demitra Carter and Bria Bullard also competed, finishing 38<sup>th</sup> and 40<sup>th</sup>, respectively.

place, flashing a 52.61, while Uko followed in 16<sup>th</sup> with 53.14.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

spot in Saturday’s quarterfinals, finishing 13<sup>th </sup>overall in the 400-meter hurdles.
