<p class="MsoNormal"><b>WACO, Texas – </b>Baylor softball received five All-Big 12 selections among the 2022 All-Big 12 Softball postseason awards announced Wednesday afternoon by the conference office.

<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">McKenzie Wilson was named to the league’s first team. She is the first Bear to pick up first-team honors since the 2018 season.
</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Wilson made her mark in the leadoff spot for Baylor this year, leading the conference all season in triples (5) and stolen bases (26). Her .411 batting average and 60 hits were good for top spots in the Big 12 rankings as well.

<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Joining the postseason honors were Aliyah Binford and Dariana Orme, who were both placed on the All-Big 12 second team.
</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">As the team’s No. 1 pitcher this year, Orme led the Bears in innings pitched (140.2) and strikeouts (130). Binford, who helped out in all aspects of the game, compiled 123 strikeouts, while leading the team in home runs (4) and doubles
(15). </p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Rounding out the All-Big 12 awards for the Bears are Kaci West and Taylor Strain, who were both placed on the All-Big 12 Freshman Team. This marks the first time Baylor has had a player named to the all-freshman team since 2017.

<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">West was the only player for Baylor this season to pick up a weekly Big 12 award, as she was honored as the Big 12 Pitcher of the Week on March 8, 2022, for tossing the first perfect game in Baylor softball history. Strain added a much-needed
spark to the Bears’ offense with her powerful hitting and solid defense in left field.
