on Thursday. It was a slow day for the Bears, everywhere but on the track.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoBodyText" align="left" style="text-align:left"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">“I thought the hurdle group did well,” said head coach Michael Ford. “Coach Ben (Dalton) really had them ready to go. Both Nathaniel (Ezekiel) and Gontse (Morake) had
solid openers.”<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoBodyText" align="left" style="text-align:left"><span style="font-size:11.0pt"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoBodyText" align="left" style="text-align:left"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">Nathaniel Ezekiel set the top spot in the qualifying round of the 400-meter hurdles with a 49.14-second race. That time sets the current No. 1 mark in the nation so far
this outdoor season and sets him up as the No. 3 400 hurdler in program history. Jayson Baldridge followed closely behind in seventh-place, running a 51.14 race and qualifying for the finals.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoBodyText" align="left" style="text-align:left"><span style="font-size:11.0pt"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoBodyText" align="left" style="text-align:left"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">Gontse Morake ran a 58.53-second race in the women’s 400-meter hurdles to secure the eighth slot in the prelims and qualify for the final round on Friday. Her time also
put her as the fifth-best runner in program history. Jasmine Gryne just missed the top-9 qualifying spots, finishing in 11<sup>th</sup>.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoBodyText" align="left" style="text-align:left"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">In the B block of the men’s 400 hurdles, Eli Morris clocked a 54.75-second race in the timed final to finish in 20<sup>th</sup>-place. Briana Garcia got the 12<sup>th</sup>-place
finish in the women’s race with a 1:02.12 finish.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoBodyText" align="left" style="text-align:left"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">After the first three throws in the B section of the men’s javelin throw, Luke Anthony qualified to the finals, where he finished in eighth place with a 182-3 throw.
