<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.0pt">Day Two started with Mikayla Deshazer’s performance in shot put. Deshazer finished in eighth place with a 47-1 throw. Luke Anthony was the only men’s competitor in the event and finished in 15<sup>th</sup>-place.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.0pt">Tuesdi Tidwell returned to the scene like she never left, winning first place after crossing 14-0.5 in the pole vault. Tidwell remains to be only one of two female Bears to break the 14-foot mark alongside
Annie Rhodes. Alex Kubicek ended her performance in a no-height.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.0pt">Freshman Nate Butler made his collegiate debut at the pole vault Saturday afternoon with a ninth-place finish after crossing 15-9.24.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.0pt"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.0pt">The women’s 60 meter qualifying race was highlighted by Bria Ballard finishing second overall in 7.58 seconds. Summer Sergeant and Demitra Carter also qualified to the next round, finishing in sixth and 12<sup>th</sup>,
respectively. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.0pt"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.0pt">The semifinals of the women’s 60 meter race had Bears in the top three slots with Ackera Nugent, Caira Pettway and Sydney Washington. Nugent finished with a time of 7.30 seconds, Pettway with 7.37 and Washington
7.42. Michaela Francois and Sergeant were close behind finishing in sixth and seventh, while Bullard finished 12<sup>th</sup> and Carter in 20<sup>th</sup>. Nugent, Pettway, Washington, Francois and Sergeant all qualified to the final.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.0pt">In the finals, Baylor swept the podium. Nugent won gold with a personal-best 7.27 seconds that put her at No. 2 all-time as a Bear in the 60 meters. Silver was won by Washington with a time of 7.33, tying
her PR and school record. Pettway came through with a bronze medal, with a photo-finish putting her over with 7.371. Sergeant and Francois finished in positions swapped from the semi at sixth and seventh, respectively.

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.0pt">The qualifying round of the men’s edition of the 60 meter dash was all freshman De’montray Callis. Callis finished first in 6.72 seconds.

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.0pt">The semifinal round saw two of the three competing Bears move on to the next round, with Callis in sixth running a 6.696 and Isaiah Cunningham in seventh in 6.700 seconds. Kamden Jackson finished his lone
race of the meet in 12th place, after a 6.82 second run. <o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.0pt">Callis finished fifth in the finals in 6.663 seconds, with Cunningham in eighth at 6.74 seconds.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.0pt">The Bears were represented by seniors Alex Madlock and Pettway in the long jump who finished third and fourth, respectively. Madlock ended with a 20-3.75 jump, while Pettway followed with a 20-3.5.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.0pt">Johnny Brackins made his collegiate debut today on the men’s long jump but ended without a score due to three scratches.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.0pt">The women’s 60 meter hurdles began in the qualifying rounds with freshman Kayla Clark qualifying in ninth place.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.0pt">Clark took her momentum into the semifinal race but failed to qualify to the final round after finishing 12th. Senior Kiara Rhodes finished the semis in fourth after 8.56 seconds and qualified to the finals.

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.0pt">Rhodes turned it on in the finals, finishing second with a time of 8.39. This time sets a new PR for Rhodes and sets her No. 5 at BU all-time.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.0pt">On the men’s side, Elijah Morris finished the 60 meter hurdle semis in first place in 7.89 seconds. This marked a new indoor PR for Morris and moved him up to seventh all-time at Baylor. Morris finished fourth
in the finals after running a 7.97 second race.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.0pt">Briana Garcia finished second in her 400 meters heat but ninth overall in 59.91 seconds. On the men’s side, Trey Fields (Howard Fields III) went 1-0 on the day with a 400 meter win in 47.24 seconds.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.0pt">Matthew Moorer had a day in the men’s 200m, finishing in 20.83 seconds with a new indoor PR. At the moment, it was the No. 1 time in the nation. That position was taken shortly after by Georgia’s Matthew Boling
running a 20.49 at the Clemson Invitational. Still, Moorer’s 20.83 moves him into the eighth spot all-time as a Bear.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.0pt">Moorea Long was the only Bear competing in the high jump, finishing tied for fourth after completing 5-5.

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.0pt">The women’s 4x400 relay was highlighted by the 3:39.48 win by Kavia Francis, Imaobong Uko, Nugent and Mariah Ayers. The splits were highlighted by Uko’s 53.41 seconds. Also running for the Bears was Garcia,
Gontse Morake, Lily Williams and Jasmine Gryne. That squad finished fourth in 3:46.73 and was led by Morake’s 54.90 split.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.0pt">The men’s edition of the 4x400 relay ended with another gold medal behind Isaiah Cunningham, Hasani Barr, Dillon Bedell, Nathaniel Ezekiel. The race was back-and-forth between the Bears and South Plains Community
College until first-semester freshman Ezekiel fired past the Texans with his 46.81 split.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
