</span></b><span style="font-size:11.0pt">Baylor baseball’s Jared McKenzie and Andy Thomas were named to the 2021 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Baseball First Team for District 7, announced by the organization
on Thursday.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoBodyText" align="left" style="text-align:left"><span style="font-size:11.0pt"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:black;background:white">Players are selected by CoSIDA members, and to be considered, players must accumulate a cumulative GPA between 3.30-4.00 with at least a sophomore
athletic standing, while being a starter or key reserve for their respective team.</span><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif"><o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoBodyText" align="left" style="text-align:left"><span style="font-size:11.0pt"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">McKenzie, a second-year freshman in business marketing, has a 3.49 GPA.
</span><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:black;background:white">In 2021, McKenzie was tops on the team and was second in the Big 12 in batting average (.383), hits (82) and runs scored (62). The second-year freshman also tallied
10 home runs with 44 RBI, 14 doubles and four triples, while starting all 51 games in center field. The Round Rock native led Baylor with 134 total bases, a .626 slugging percentage and a .453 on-base percentage.</span><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:black"><br>
<span style="background:white"> </span><br>
<span style="background:white">Currently, McKenzie sits as the all-time leader in batting average at Baylor with a .389 mark in 67 career games. McKenzie is already in the BU record books after coming in at No. 7 in single-season batting average and T-No. 2
all-time in single season multi-hit games with 30 this past year.</span></span><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif"><o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Thomas, a fifth-year senior, wrapped up his undergrad in marketing with a 3.44 GPA and has a 4.00 in grad school for business administration.
</span><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:black;background:white">Thomas finished the 2021 campaign hitting a career-best .337 to go along with a career-high 11 home runs and 60 RBI while starting all 51 games behind the plate
for the Bears. His 60 RBI are the most for any Baylor player in a single season since 2012.</span><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:black"><br>
<span style="background:white"> </span><br>
<span style="background:white">The Murrieta, Calif., native ended his Baylor career as a .327 hitter with 124 runs scored, 216 hits, 19 home runs and 141 RBI in 184 games played.</span></span><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif"><o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoBodyText" align="left" style="text-align:left"><span style="font-size:11.0pt"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoBodyText" align="left" style="text-align:left"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">Their selections mark the 44<sup>th</sup> and 45<sup>th</sup> times a baseball student-athlete has earned a CoSIDA All-District nod. With Thomas previously receiving
the honor in 2019, McKenzie becomes the 29<sup>th</sup> different Bear to do so. Thomas is the 16<sup>th</sup> Bear to earn the award multiple times.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
