</span></b><span style="font-size:11.0pt">Baylor softball’s Gia Rodoni was named the Big 12 Pitcher of the Week, announced Tuesday morning by the conference office.

<p class="MsoBodyText" align="left" style="text-align:left"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">Rodoni went 3-0 on the week as she picked up the midweek win against Sam Houston before putting in some stellar work to help the Lady Bears get the sweep at Texas Tech
over the weekend. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoBodyText" align="left" style="text-align:left"><span style="font-size:11.0pt"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoBodyText" align="left" style="text-align:left"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">The Los Banos, Calif., native picked up her 600<sup>th</sup> career strikeout in Friday’s contest as she finished the week with a whopping 21 Ks compared to two walks.
She gave up three earned runs all week through 18 innings of work. In Sunday’s thrilling extra-inning win in Lubbock, Rodoni matched her career high with eight innings pitched as she gave up one earned run off six hits with six strikeouts.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoBodyText" align="left" style="text-align:left"><span style="font-size:11.0pt"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoBodyText" align="left" style="text-align:left"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">This is the eighth weekly honor from the conference for Rodoni and first since Feb. 25, 2020. Her first six nods all came in 2018 which marked a program record for single-season
honors and tied for third-most in a single season by a Big 12 pitcher. Rodoni is now tied for ninth in Big 12 history with her eight weekly honors.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoBodyText" align="left" style="text-align:left"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">The honor is the 43<sup>rd</sup> given to a Baylor pitcher in program history after Aliyah Binford earned the nod two weeks ago. This is the first time since 2016 and
the fourth season in program history (2004, 2014, 2016, 2021) that multiple Baylor pitchers have earned the weekly conference honor. A Lady Bear pitcher has taken home at least one weekly honor from the conference in each of the last 10 years.
