Baylor baseball led the conference with 17 Academic All-Big 12 choices, including a league-best 12 first team honorees, the league announced this week. The Bears tied a program record for total selections set in 2018 and they've now had 10 or more honorees
in eight-straight seasons.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto"><span style="font-size:10.5pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:black">BU has had at least nine honorees in 11 straight seasons. In the league's 32-year history, Baylor has earned
168 first team selections, more than any other team in the league. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto"><span style="font-size:10.5pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:black">The Bears' first team selections were Ryan Bertelsman, Luke Boyd, Daniel Caruso, Richard Cunningham, Kyle
Harper, Kyle Hill, Ryan Leckich, Andy Thomas, Cole Weaver, Chase Wehsener, Davis Wendzel and Jimmy Winston.

<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto"><span style="font-size:10.5pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:black">Cunningham led the way for the Bears, earning first team honors for the fourth time in his career. Hill
followed, earning his third-straight honor, while Leckich, Thomas, Weaver, Wendzel and Winston earned the honor for the second-straight season. Boyd was named to the first team after being a second team honoree a year ago.

<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto"><span style="font-size:10.5pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:black">Baylor's second team choices were Jacob Ashkinos, Cole Haring, Shea Langeliers, Nick Loftin and Tyler Thomas.

<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto"><span style="font-size:10.5pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:black">First team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA while the second team selections
hold a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA. To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 20 percent of their team's scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in
their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
