BIG 12 DAY 1 RESULTS<https://flashresults.com/2026_Meets/Outdoor/05-14_Big12/index.htm>
TUCSON, Ariz. – Freshman Kingston Williams and sophomore Logan Todorovich recorded a combined six personal bests and sit in the top five of the multi-events after Thursday’s opening day at the Big 12 Outdoor Track & Field Championship at Drachman Stadium.
The Bears had mixed results on the track, qualifying Tiriah Kelley, Royaltee Brown, Success Oyibu and Laurenz Colbert for the finals in the 200 meters but missing out on potential big points in the women’s 400-meter hurdles when Serafima false-started and was disqualified.
Lucero set the program record in the event last month with a time of 55.93 that ranks second in the Big 12 and 10thnationally, costing Baylor as many as 10 points.
Williams got off to a good start in the decathlon, finishing second in the 100 meters (10.88) and 400 meters (47.87) and adding a PR in the high jump with a career-best mark of 6-3 ¼. Through the first five events, Williams is tied for fourth with Cincinnati freshman Miller Marbury with 3,994 points and just 107 points off the pace set by Oklahoma State’s Steve Schmidt (4,051).
In the heptathlon, Todorovich set PR marks in all four events and is fifth overall with 3,507 points. Her biggest PR of the day came in the high jump, where Todorovich cleared 5-9 ¼ on her first attempt to move up to a tie for fourth on the all-time performer list.
Todorovich also recorded career personal bests in the 100-mter hurdles (13.92), shot put (37-7 ¼) and 200 meters (24.19). The remaining events in the heptathlon are the long jump, javelin and 800 meters, with the competition wrapping up on Friday.
Baylor’s biggest success of the day came in the 200 meters, with Kelley recording the fastest qualifying time at 22.56 seconds. Both setting career bests, Brown and Oyibu were clocked in 22.93 and 22.96, respectively.
On the men’s side, Colbert qualified with the fifth-fastest time and season best of 20.43.
Friday’s action begins with the conclusion of the decathlon and heptathlon, with the first field events starting at 6 p.m. CDT and the evening running session starting at 7:30.
