WACO, Texas – Baylor baseball dropped a 19-3 contest in seven innings to UCF on Saturday afternoon at Magnolia Field at Baylor Ballpark in Waco.
UCF (29-18, 17-9 Big 12) got out to a fast start and never looked back with six runs in the first and two more five-run frames the rest of the day to keep the Bears (25-25, 11-15 Big 12) out of reach.
Redshirt junior infielder Travis Sanders had two hits and an RBI for BU in the leadoff spot and freshman outfielder Dylan Perez produced his eighth multi-hit game of the season to lead the Bears offensively. Redshirt senior first baseman Tyce Armstrong reached safely for the 22nd-consecutive game, a career high on-base streak, and senior outfielder Caleb Bergman robbed a home run and delivered an RBI knock on Senior Day.
THE RUNDOWN
The Knights jumped out to a quick and early lead, plating six runs in the top of the first on six hits and a Baylor error. UCF tacked on one more in the second to make it a 7-0 ballgame before the Bears got on the board.
Sophomore infielder Pearson Riebock delivered an RBI sac fly in the bottom of the second for BU’s first tally, but it wouldn’t make a dent in the scoreboard as UCF scored the game’s next seven runs with a five-run fourth and two-run fifth inning.
In the home half of the fifth, Sanders singled in a run with his second base hit of the ballgame, cutting the deficit to 14-2. But again, UCF responded loudly with a five-run seventh inning to continue pulling away at 19-2.
An RBI single from Bergman was a highlight on Senior Day, as the senior outfielder collected just his third RBI of the season to avoid a zero in the run column in the Bears’ final offensive inning of the day.

QUOTABLE
Head Coach Mitch Thompson
On the 2026 senior class…
“There’s so many that I’m proud of. Caleb Bergman, I’m so proud of the kid that he is, the student that he is, the person that he is, the great teammate that he is. I’m excited that we got a chance to get him out there today on Senior Day, and that he made a great play in left field and had an RBI hit. Bergman and [Ethan] Calder, those are the two that stand out to me, just because they’ve been here for all four years. They understand what a Baylor degree means, what it’s all about. They are unbelievable people. And they’re going to be successful in life.”
WHAT’S NEXT
