No. 8 Baylor MT to Compete in Second-Annual UTR Collegiate Championships

INDIAN WELLS, Calif. – For the second year in a row, Baylor men’s tennis will participate in the UTR Collegiate Championships at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden and is set to face No. 54 Memphis on Saturday, March 14 at noon CT.



The second and final round of matches concludes on Sunday, March 15. With a win, BU would face the winner of Arizona State/Pepperdine at noon CT in the championship match, and a loss would have Bears competing in the third-place playoff match at 4 p.m. CT.



Last season at Indian Wells, BU clinched a nailbiter 4-3 match against No. 28 Pepperdine, coming down to Court Two with Oskar Brostrom Poulsen winning a third-set tiebreaker 6-2, 5-7, 7-6(7) to advance the Bears. In the championship match against No. 45 Arizona State, Baylor once again fought back, winning three singles courts and tying the match. Tied 3-3, the championship came down to No. 6 singles where the Sun Devils closed out the victory.



This will be the second neutral site match of the season for Baylor since advancing to the semifinals of the ITA Indoor Championships.
