LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Coming off a runner-up finish at the Chevron Collegiate, the 19th-ranked Baylor women’s golf team will get a sneak preview of the 2027 Big 12 Championship when the Bears play in UNLV’s Lady Luck Invitational on Monday and Tuesday at Las Vegas Country Club.

After going against multiple top-20 teams in each of their first three spring tournaments, the Bears and No. 16 UCF are the only ones ranked inside the top 20 for the 14-team UNLV tournament.

“This is a good chance for us to check out the golf course where we’re playing the Big 12 Championship in 2027,” Baylor coach Jay Goble said. “The plan is to play in this event again next year. It’s a really good golf course for our team, not a typical desert course. It’s a tree-lined parkland course, which is what we play on every day at Ridgewood (Country Club).”

Junior transfer Yurang Li, who recorded her third top-10 finish at the Chevron, is back in the No. 1 position for the Bears and will be joined by senior Silje Ohma, sophomore Malena Castro and freshmen Amelia Wan and Paloma Ibarra Ambia.

Castro had a career-best runner-up finish last week and leads the team with a 71.32-stroke average, just ahead of Li (71.47) and Ohma (72.15). Wan has been in the lineup in six of the seven tournaments she’s played and has a 74.26 average, while Ibarra Ambia took last week off after struggling to three-consecutive rounds in the 80s at the Arizona Thunderbird.

Baylor has posted eight-consecutive top-five finishes this season and has moved up one spot in each of the last two Scoreboard rankings. Joining Baylor and the host UNLV team are fellow Big 12 schools BYU, UCF, Houston, Oklahoma State and Texas Tech, along with Kent State, Oregon State, Texas State, Northern Arizona, UTSA, Nevada and New Mexico.

The Bears are paired with UCF and UNLV for both rounds on Monday with shotgun starts at 10:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. CT. Live scoring is available at UNLV Invitational<https://scoreboard.clippd.com/tournaments/239886/scoring/team>.
