NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP RESULTS<https://flashresults.com/2026_Meets/Outdoor/06-10_NCAA/index.htm>

EUGENE, Ore. – For about 100 meters, Baylor junior Demario Prince went toe-to-toe with world record-setter Ja’Kobe Tharp from Auburn and Texas’ Kendrick Smallwood in the finals of the 110-meter hurdles Friday night at the NCAA Championship at Hayward Field.

But when he stumbled over the 10th and final hurdle, Prince was thrown off enough to fall back to sixth place in a time of 13.25 as Tharp (12.90) and Smallwood (12.95) became the first duo in the history of the NCAA Championship to both go under 13 seconds.

“I thought he had a better start today,” Baylor coach Michael Ford said. “I thought he was a little wide with his trail leg on Wednesday. Today, I thought he put it together. I thought he was moving really well in between the hurdles. And then, from that angle, he was actually too far (from the hurdle). He smashed that hurdle, and that killed his momentum.”

Prince earns All-America honors for the third-consecutive national championship, following a fifth-place finish at last year’s NCAA Outdoor Championship and a bronze medal in the 60-meter hurdles at this year’s NCAA Indoor Championship.

“Luckily, he’s got more to come,” said Baylor assistant coach Ben Dalton, who works with the hurdlers. “It doesn’t make him feel any better right now, because this is when we need to show up. But he was ready to run with these guys. He’s ready to run 13-flat, 12.9.”

Dalton said Prince will compete in the Jamaican Trials next week and hopefully the Commonwealth Games if he qualifies. But he also has an indoor season and two outdoor seasons left at Baylor.

That finish also got the Baylor men on the board with three points to tie for 51st with Iowa State, TCU, Northern Iowa and UTSA.

It was a tough opening day of the heptathlon for sophomore Logan Todorovich, who had disappointing finishes in the high jump (5-5 ¼) and shot put (34-11) and sits in 21st place (out of 24 competitors) through the first four of seven events.

Todorovich, making her NCAA Championship debut, had a solid finish in the 100-meter hurdles with a 13.96-second time and also finished strong with a 24.57 clocking in the 200 meters to score 3,288 points.

“You definitely want to hit, especially the ones that you’re strong in,” Ford said. “Tomorrow is another day, which is one of her best events. And then she’s good in the 800, and we’ll see what she can do in the javelin. This is a good learning experience, and this is her first time here, too.”

While Todorovich has three events remaining in the seven-event heptathlon, Baylor still has a chance to score more points on the women’s side with senior All-American Tiriah Kelley in the 200 meters final on Saturday.
