On today’s meet…
I'm just incredibly proud of them. I mean, this is what we've been asking them to do all year. All four events just come together at the same time and just fight it out. It took all four events today, and in some of the events, we didn't have our strongest showing, but the other events made up for that. I've got to say, I am incredibly proud of Horsemanship for just having it all come together today. They've been working so hard for that. This was the day we needed them, so I'm so proud of them, and I hope they just really enjoy this win, because they sealed the deal for the team today.
Junior Carley Rutledge
On first career point and MOP…
It feels amazing. I mean, I've been on the team for the past three years and I have not gotten either. So it felt really good and really rewarding to know that all of our hard work is paying off and I think we saw that today with the team as a win for everybody too.
Senior Lauren Jorgensen
On double MOPs…
It's awesome. It's just a surreal experience. I really wanted to go out there and have a good day, with my last meet at home. Feeling a little bit sentimental, but I just wanted to make the most of it. And then that was the outcome, so I was super happy. Both the horses were really good and I was super happy with how the day went and so glad we beat TCU and that I could contribute to that.
WHAT’S NEXT
The Bears take a week off before traveling west to Fresno, Calif.. to battle UT Martin on Friday, March 6 and No. 8 Fresno State on Saturday, March 7 to close out the regular season. Both meets will start at 12 p.m. at the Student Horse Center.
