BATON ROUGE, La. – Baylor track & field continues its outdoor season this weekend, traveling to Louisiana State University to compete in the Battle on the Bayou at the Bernie Moore Track Stadium from March 28-29.



Baylor will be one of 13 power-four teams competing in the stacked competition, joining Alabama, Arizona State, Indiana, Kansas, LSU, Michigan, Mississippi State, Missouri, Ole Miss, Penn State, Southern California and Texas A&M.



The two-day meet will begin on Friday at 10:30 a.m. CT with the women’s hammer while running events beginning at 5:30 p.m. CT with the women’s 400 hurdles. Saturday’s competition begins at 10:30 a.m. CT in the women’s discuss with the running events following at 11:35 a.m. CT in the women’s 400 meter relay.



Baylor opened its outdoor season at home on Saturday, March 22, hosting the one-day meet Clyde Hart Classic. The Bears posted 12 first place finishes, including a new program record in the hammer throw set by freshman thrower Igor Olaru.



The Bears will have 40 athletes entered in the Battle on the Bayou while 10 Bears will be competing at the Bobcat Invitational at Texas State University from March 27-29. Additionally, three pole vaulters of Molly Haywood, Tenly Kuhn and Alencia Lentz will compete in the 97th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays in Austin, Texas on Saturday, March 29 in the women’s pole vault university elite competition.
