IRVING, Texas – Senior Oskar Brostrom Poulsen’s successful weekend paid off as he earned the second Big 12 Athlete of the Week honor for the spring season for Baylor men’s tennis.



This marks the first Big 12 Athlete of the Week award in the Helsingor, Denmark native’s career. Just two weeks ago, Devin Badenhorst was also named Big 12 Athlete of the Week.



The honor comes from Brostrom Poulsen’s effective weekend, going 3-0 in singles and 1-2 in doubles, the doubles win being ranked. The senior captain has played in seven out of eight matches this spring for the Bears and has played every singles match on Court Two. To open the spring, the No. 58 ranked Bear has gone 5-0 in singles, remaining undefeated. Overall in the fall and spring, Brostrom Poulsen has a 16-5 record.



In doubles, the senior is 9-6 for the 2024-25 season. The No. 3 ranked pair of Brostrom Poulsen and Marko Miladinovic have teamed up in nearly every match this spring together. On Sunday against Rice, the two grabbed its first ranked win of the spring season. Overall, the two are 6-3 against ranked doubles opponents.



Brostrom Poulsen and the Bears currently prepare a big road weekend ahead as they are set to face off against Nebraska in Lincoln on Friday night and No. 3 Ohio State in Columbus at noon.
