Baylor T&F Wraps Final Day at DeLoss Dodds Invite with Nine Medals
Bears grab four first place, four second place and one third place finishes

MANHATTAN, Kansas – In its final day of at the DeLoss Dodds Invite at the Cliff Revelto Indoor Track, Baylor track & field came out with success and earned nine medals, four of each in first and second place and one in third.



THE RUNDOWN

Starting out in the 60-meter hurdles, the 2024 Indoor Outstanding Freshman of the Year, Demario Prince, opened his 60mH season with the top preliminary time to qualify to the finals. In the finals later in the afternoon, Prince matched his personal-best and notched a meet and facility record of at 7.62 to finish in first place.



In the men’s 60m prelims, the Bears took over and claimed half the field to move on to the final with (2) Laurenz Colbert, (4) Ricquan Graham, (7) Austen Diggs and (8) De’montray Callis all advancing. In the finals, Colbert took home silver at 6.78 with Graham, Callis and Diggs following behind him in fourth, fifth and sixth place finishes.



Moving to the women’s 60m prelims, Alexis Brown and Tiriah Kelley, who hit a personal-best, finished at the top of their heat to advance, also including Michaela Francois in the finals for three Bears to be represented. In the finals, Brown concluded her perfect performance of the weekend with a first place finish at 7.30, just 0.01 seconds shy of matching her PR. Kelley broke her PR for the second time at 7.47 to finish in third place.



Nathaniel Ezekiel made his 2025 debut with a huge impact, taking the win in his first 400-meter race of the indoor season with a meet and facility record at 45.56, just 0.02 seconds behind his personal best. Right behind Ezekiel was Dillon Bedell with a season-best mark of 47.18 to earn second place. Demar Francis grabbed a fourth place finish and freshman Abbas Ali grabbed a new PR time of 47.37.



In the women’s 400m, Sameena Mathew netted her second silver medal of her freshman season at 54.89.



In the field events, JL Van Rensburg had a day, winning his first gold medal of his collegiate career. The freshman went 59-10.5 in the shot put to set the facility record and take the win.



Iyanna Webb continues her impressive freshman season with her second medal in four meets in the triple jump. Webb jumped to a 40-9.75 mark to finish in second place. Bella Copeland additionally earned fourth place at 39-4.5.



WHAT’S NEXT

Bears return to Texas to prepare for the Charlie Thomas Invite at the Fasken Indoor Track at College Station from February 7-8.
