Baylor Men’s Tennis Travels to Dallas for Ralston/Neufeld Coaches Challenge

DALLAS, Texas – The Baylor men’s tennis team will send four Bears up to to Dallas this weekend to compete in the Ralston/Neufeld Coaches Challenge. The tournament will begin Friday, Nov. 1 and conclude Sunday, Nov. 3 at the Styslinger/Altec Tennis Complex.

Baylor will open play Nov. 1 with two doubles matches and one singles match.

Justin Braverman, Luc Koenig, Luis Jose Nakamine and Quintan Van Wijk will compete against fourteen other schools, including preseason ranked No. 1 TCU, No. 11 Oklahoma and No. 12 Harvard. The round-robin style tournament will feature over 80 players.

First held in 2019, this is Baylor’s third time around this tournament. The Bears’ last trip was in 2022. They were led by Braverman, who left that challenge a perfect 8-0.

The Bears are fresh off the ITA Texas Regionals which ran from Oct. 17-Oct. 22. In singles play, Koenig performed best of the four, going 2-1. In doubles, Nakamine/Braverman went 1-1 while Koenig/Abdul Hazli nearly clinched a bid to the NCAA Individual Championships with a 4-1 record. Time will tell if Koenig has similar success this weekend.
