WACO, Texas – Baylor women’s tennis closes off the regular season of fall play with the ITA Sectionals beginning Nov. 7 at Varsity Tennis Center in Ann Arbor, Mich. and the Rice Invitational beginning Nov. 8 at George R. Brown Tennis Center in Houston.

Cristinia Tiglea and Liubov Kostenko will represent the Bears in Ann Arbor, both competing in singles action and partnering up in doubles. Kostenko will take on Memphis’ Leonie Moeller and Tiglea will face Iowa State’s Anna Supapitch in the round of 32. Zuzanna Kubacha is also the first alternate for the tournament.

Last competing in the ITA Texas Regional Championship, Kostenko looks to continue her success with her quarterfinals run, garnering three victories including defeating SMU’s Arianna Stavropoulos 6-1, 6-0. Tiglea went on to have two wins before falling in the third round.

The top six singles competitors and three doubles teams will each earn bids for the NCAA Individual Championships beginning Nov. 19 at the Hurd Tennis Center.

The tournament will be held as a compass draw with teams like Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Texas Tech and LSU competing in the tournament.

Last time out again in Fort Worth, Sato went on to lose her first match before a five-match run to win the consolation draw off a walkover against TCU’s Yu-Chin Tsai. In doubles, the pair of Thompson and Littell went on to win their first match up before being eliminated in the round of 16.
