Baylor Athletics Earns 96 Spring Academic All-Big 12 Honors
76 student-athletes named to first team, 20 pick up second-team praise

IRVING, Texas – A total of 96 Baylor student-athletes were named to the 2024 Spring Academic All-Big 12 Teams, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday.

The Spring Academic All-Big 12 Teams recognize the academic accomplishments of student-athletes at Conference institutions that participate in spring sports. A total of 76 Bears earned first-team honors, including 11 with a perfect 4.00 grade point average, while another 20 picked up second-team praise.

Of the first- and second-team honors, Acrobatics & Tumbling led the way with 22 honorees, while Women’s Track & Field (18), Baseball (13), Softball (12), Men’s Track & Field (11), Men’s Golf (6), Men’s Tennis (5), Women’s Golf (5), and Women’s Tennis (4) were each represented.

First Team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA, while selections to the Second Team hold a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA.

To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher, either cumulative or the previous two semesters, and must have participated in at least 20 percent of their team’s scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.
