TOP QUOTES

Head Coach Casie Maxwell

On today’s win…

“Amazing. This is the team that we know we’ve had. It’s getting them to come together on the same page. There’s still some work to do. We’d like the spread to be even bigger than it was today, but what an awesome win. A statement win to come out and start this spring semester. It’s the boost of confidence that our team needed to start the spring semester. I can say wholeheartedly, they’ve been fired up. Not about the fact that we’re playing Georgia, but just about it being a good turning point for them. Leaving the fall behind coming into the spring semester. They’ve really come at this entire semester. Their approach to it has been positive and optimistic. It’s awesome to watch their hard work pay off.”

On today’s record setting rides…

“It’s huge. It gives them a boost of confidence. It reminds them what they’re capable of. We tell them all the time, but for them to go out there and have a judge appraise them for such a solid ride to earn a record is outstanding. They know how high they’ve set their bar today. They’ve just got to keep striving for that.”

Jumping Seat senior Madison Mitchell

On team’s mindset…

“It felt good, especially coming off last semester. The team was feeling strong. It was a good push through moment. The team really needed this. We’ve all been working hard for three weeks. We need this for our mindset and to give us a boost for the rest of the season.”

Jumping Seat sophomore Lauren Reid

On team’s feeling after today’s win…

“Today was such a great feeling. Our whole jumping seat squad came out with a bang. We executed very well, which was our plan all week in practice. It gives us a lot of confidence. We’re a young team. So, it gave a lot of the underclassmen confidence. We just have to not become complacent and carry that into Oklahoma State.”

WHAT’S NEXT

Baylor (2-6,1-2) starts a three-week road trip beginning with a Big 12 rematch in Stillwater, as the Bears face Oklahoma State (2-5, 2-1) on Friday, Feb. 9.
