Promotions Abound for Welcome Back BG Game on Sunday

WACO, Texas -- Baylor Athletics has announced a bevy of promotions and highlights in advance of the Welcome Back Brittney Griner Game, featuring Baylor women’s basketball vs. Texas Tech on Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Foster Pavilion. Doors open at 1:30 p.m. and the game will be televised live on ESPN2 and broadcast on the Baylor Sports Media Network.

The Baylor family will be treated to a memorable and once-in-a-lifetime celebration of one of the best to ever play at Baylor University returns home. Prior to the game, Baylor will unveil Griner’s jersey from the rafters, the seventh jersey to be retired by Baylor women’s basketball. The ceremony is slated to begin at approximately 2:45 p.m. Fans are encouraged to arrive early get to their seats to join the excitement.



Every seat in the house will have a commemorative BG t-shirt, which will be gold to further amplify the Go Gold theme at The Foster. Fans arriving early will have the opportunity to collect an illustrated “BG” poster and sticker that will be given away on a first-come, first-serve basis at the marketing table located on the Mark, Lisa, Makenzie and Garrett Miller Family Concourse.



The Garrett Miller Family Concourse at The Foster will feature a display of trophies collected during Griner’s collegiate career and a photo opportunity that includes BG’s jersey. At halftime, Baylor students will partake in the Dunk Like BG Challenge. The winner will receive an autographed basketball signed by head coaches Nicki Collen and Scott Drew.



Throughout the game, fans will be treated to special in-game videos and historical highlights of Griner’s elite collegiate career. In addition, Baylor women’s basketball alumni will be in attendance to support the recognition of one of their peers.



Griner, one of the most accomplished student-athletes in Baylor history, is a two-time consensus National Player of the Year and a three-time Big 12 Player of the Year. She helped Baylor to a 135-15 record in her four-year career that included a 40-0 national championship season in 2011-12.



No. 21 Baylor (18-5, 7-5 Big 12) will travel to Norman to face No. 23 Oklahoma (17-6, 11-1 Big 12) at the Lloyd Noble Center on Wednesday at 6 p.m. The game is available for streaming via the Big 12 Now on ESPN+ and the Baylor Sports Media Network.
