WACO, Texas – No. 1 Baylor acrobatics and tumbling returns to the Ferrell Center on Sunday with a 3 p.m. start time against No. 11 Mary Hardin-Baylor.

The Bears (1-0) gear up to face the Crusaders (0-0) for the fifth time in program history. BU has won all five matchups against UMHB, winning their last meet against the Cru, 279.460 to 257.725. UMHB is in their fifth season as an A&T program.

The head coach for the Cru, Raffaela Scotto, is a Baylor A&T alumna who helped the Bears win an individual event championship and three NCATA national championships during her time at BU. This is her third season as head coach for Mary Hardin-Baylor, taking over for now-Baylor assistant coach Courtney Oates, also a BU alumna.

Baylor is on a 28-meet win streak dating back to the 2021 season. BU also outscored TLU last week by 110.035 points and earned its highest score during Inverted Pyramid, earning a 9.95. The second highest score of the meet was earned by freshman Payton Washington, posting a 9.925 in the six element tumbling pass in her first meet collegiate appearance.

Sunday will serve as A&T’s mental health awareness meet, with giveaways on the concourse for fans.
