PALOS VERDES ESTATES, Calif.– Baylor Women’s golf closed Sunday with a 2.5-2.5 tie against Ohio State University at the Therese Hession Regional Challenge at Palos Verdes Golf Club.

Sera Hasegawa continued her undefeated run with a 3&2 victory. Additionally, Yoonjeong Huh claimed one point for the Bears by winning her first career match 2&1.

No. 4 South Carolina and No. 6 Texas won their matches and will advance to the finals on Monday at 1 pm CT.

THE RUNDOWN
Hasegawa controlled her match from the outset and never allowed Kary Hollenbaugh to take the lead. The Bear started off strong, claiming two wins on Nos. 11 and 12. After halving the next three holes, Hollebaugh got one back with a win at No. 16. The Buckeye also picked up a victory at No. 3 to pull even, but Hasegawa won the next three holes, securing a point for Baylor.

Yoonjeong Huh played a tied match for 11 of her 17 holes on Sunday but pulled ahead in the end for a 2&1 victory. Huh and Buckeye Kailie Vongsaga, traded 1-up leads through seven holes, and were fittingly even through 12. On the heels of falling 1-down, Huh rallied and claimed back-to-back wins at Nos. 7 and 8 to go one up and closed out the match with another win at No. 10.

Rosie Belsham played Buckeye Caley McGinty evenly for the opening two holes of their match. The Ohio State senior pulled ahead with back-to-back wins at Nos. 11 and 12. Belsham battled back to 1-down as the Brits played evenly until No. 17 when McGinty rattled off three-straight wins, eventually closing out the match at 3&2.

Ashleen Kaur came out with a tie in her match on Sunday morning. The freshman pulled ahead on the opening hole, No. 11, and held the lead until Faith Choi claimed a win on No. 16 to things up. Kaur gained momentum by building her lead back to 3-up with wins at Nos. 17, 18, and 3 before Choi picked up key wins on Nos. 5, 8, and 9 to halve the match.

Silje Ohma lost her opening hole at No. 13 but battled back to tie and eventually pulled ahead at No. 16. She led 1-up after 14 holes, but Ohio State’s Jillian Bourdage reeled off three-straight wins at Nos. 9, 10 and 11 to close out the 2&1 win.
