HOCKLEY, Texas—Baylor women's golf finished fourth in the Big 12 championship Saturday at the Clubs at Houston Oaks.

Sera Hasegawa shot her second-straight round at par or better, with an even-par 71 in the final round, to tie for eighth. The junior's 1-over 214 earned her a spot on the Big 12 All-Tournament Team. Iowa State's Karisa Chul-Ak-Sorn shared co-medalist honors with her teammate, Liyana Durisic, after they shot 6-under 207s.

Texas captured the team title with a 1-under 851, 12 shots ahead of the second-place Cyclones. Just nine shots separated second-place Iowa State and sixth-place Houston.

THE RUNDOWN
Starting on No. 4, Hasegawa made a quick bogey at No. 5 but rebounded with a birdie at No. 10 to get back to even through nine. A second bogey cost the junior a shot at No. 17 before recovering with a nice birdie at the par-4 18th to climb back to even<https://x.com/BaylorWGolf/status/1781741527330357721>, where she would stay after three pars to close out the tournament.

Rosie Belsham shot a 1-over 72 on Saturday and settled into a tie for 12th by the end of the day. The senior started on fire with three birdies on her first six holes<https://x.com/BaylorWGolf/status/1781689989299855469> to climb into the top six. Her first dropped shot came at No. 12, followed by two more after a double bogey at No. 17. She fell over par for the first time with a bogey at No. 2, finishing at 3-over for the tournament.

Silje Ohma also tied for 12th, her second-straight top-15 finish in the Big 12 Championship. The sophomore got off to a good start with a birdie at her first hole of the day at No. 6, adding another at No. 8 with a bogey sandwiched in between. She jumped into the top 10 with a third birdie at No. 11 but dropped a pair of shots at Nos. 13 and 17 to close the back nine. She got a shot back with a birdie at No. 1 to shoot a 1-under 70, BU's best score on the day.

Ashleen Kaur shot a 3-over 74 to finish the weekend in a tie for 33rd. A bogey-birdie start left her at even, where she would stay through five holes. Three bogeys on her next four holes put her at 3-over for the round until she clawed back a shot with a birdie at No. 16. The freshman played her final four holes at 1-over with bogeys at Nos. 3 and 6 around a birdie after a brilliant tee shot at No. 5.<https://x.com/BaylorWGolf/status/1781741527330357721>

Yoonjeong Huh made her Big 12 Championship debut as a sub on Saturday. Following an opening-hole par, Huh carded a double-bogey five at the par-3 ninth. The freshman rebounded nicely with a birdie at No. 10 but added three more bogeys at Nos. 13, 15 and 2 to close out her round.

QUOTABLE:
Head coach Jay Goble on his takeaways from the weekend — “We fought really hard again today. We have a fantastic team that never really got it going this week. It’s a little frustrating that we came out here and didn’t play our best golf this week. Thankfully, we have an opportunity to go to regionals, and we’re going to have an opportunity to earn some even bigger trophies. This team really is special. They’re really good. I think sometimes there might be some doubt that they are as good as they are. Ninety-five percent of the golf we played this weekend was fantastic, but I think the 5% that we didn’t play great cost as big. The hardest thing to swallow is that there really was so much good. And I hope our team can focus on the good things they did this week in preparation for regionals.”

Head coach Jay Goble on the test Big 12s provided — “This place is hard. We see the winning score at 1-under as a team, and then the next best score is 11 over par. This is a challenging place, and you throw a little wind in there and some greens with pin placements that don't always react like you think they will, and it kind of messes with you a little bit, but that's what we want. This is what we need going into the harder courses we will play in the next few weeks. I'm going to see the silver lining in this that we needed to play this championship on a hard golf course and see what we need to get better at for regionals, and we'll be ready.”

WHAT’S NEXT
Baylor will await its seventh-straight regional assignment, which will be announced live on Golf Channel on Wednesday afternoon at 1 p.m. CT.
