FRANKLIN, Tenn. –  Baylor women’s golf moved up two spots into 15th place with a 12-over 300 in the second round of the Mason Rudolph Championship on Saturday.



BU’s Ashleen Kaur and Rosie Belsham carded a pair of 2-over 74s to lead the Bears in the second round. Kaur enters the final round tied for 18th after a 3-under 141 through the first two rounds.



Auburn maintained their lead at 20-under 556, holding off a hard-charging Vanderbilt who shot the team round of the day with a 10-under 278. Ole Miss’ Andrea Lignell holds the individual lead with a 10-under 134 after 36 holes.



THE RUNDOWN

Kaur got off to another strong start with three-straight pars, before her first blemish of the day came as a bogey at No. 13. Another bogey at No. 15 saw her make the turn with a 2-over 38. Following a couple of bogeys at No’s. 1 and 2, Kaur carded the first eagle of her young career at No. 4. One final bogey came at No. 5, before she closed with a birdie at No. 9.



Belsham carded a 2-over 74 of her own to climb into a tie for 71st. Belsham opened with seven-straight pars, but carded a triple-bogey seven at No. 15 to drop to 3-over par. She finished her first nine strong with a birdie at No. 18 to get a shot back before the turn. The senior built on that with nine-straight pars to close out her second round.



SIlje Ohma shot a 3-over 75 to settle into a tie for 71st after two rounds. The sophomore got off to a slow start with a pair of bogeys and a double-bogey in her first three holes. Ohma settled in with four-straight pars and two birdies to close out her opening nine. Six pars started her second nine interrupted only by a bogey at No. 7, her final of the day.



Sera Hasegawa is tied for 82nd on the heels of a 5-over 77. Hasegawa made an early bogey at No. 12, and fell to 3-over with a double-bogey at No. 16. She picked up a stroke with a birdie at No. 17, but dropped a pair of shots to start the second nine at Nos. 1 and 2. She played her final seven holes at just 1-over, with a bogey at No. 8.



Yoonjeong Huh is tied for 85th after a 6-over 78 in the second round. After starting with a birdie, Huh made back-to-back double-bogeys at No’s. 12 and 13 to drop to 3-over. She made a birdie at No. 14 to get a stroke back but dropped a pair of shots at Nos. 16 and 18 to close out her first nine. Her second nine was dotted with a pair of bogeys at No’s. 1 and 5.





HIGHLIGHTS

● Kaur’s 3-under 141 is the lowest 36-hole score of her young career.
● Kaur is tied for the second-best par-5 scoring average (4.25).
● Baylor is one of two schools with multiple eagles this week.
