WACO, Texas – Baylor equestrian will host its annual Green and Gold Scrimmage on Friday, Sept. 15 at the Willis Family Equestrian Center in Waco.

First ride is set for 10 a.m., and the meet is free and open to the public. Fans will get their first chance to see the 2023-24 roster in action, which includes 18 freshmen, 20 sophomores, 13 juniors, seven seniors and three fifth-year seniors.

Head coach Casie Maxwell enters her seventh season leading the program and returns 13 of BU’s 19 point-winners from last season.

The Bears are back in action after a trip to the National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA) quarterfinals in which they fell to No. 1 SMU in the opening round. After a 6-10 campaign and a third-place finish at the 2023 Big 12 Championship, 2023 All-American Madison Mitchell (Flat) and NCEA Co-Flat Rider of the Year Dominika Silvestri (Flat) are back to lead the squad.

Baylor opens the season further down the Brazos at Texas A&M on Friday, Sept. 29. BU will begin a three-week home slate on Friday, Oct. 6, against Auburn, followed by a pair of home contests against conference rivals Oklahoma State (Oct. 13) and Fresno State (Nov. 2).
