SAN DIEGO – Baylor men’s tennis wrapped up its time at the Hagedorn Hidden Dual on Sunday afternoon after a successful campaign in doubles play, going 2-0 with wins over LSU and Tennessee. On the weekend, the Bears tallied a 7-9 record that was split at 4-6 in singles and 3-3 in doubles.



THE RUNDOWN

The Bears opened the tournament on Friday with a pair of wins, split evenly among singles and doubles play. Oskar Brostrom Poulsen took down LSU’s Chen Dong in two sets, 6-3, 6-3, before Christopher Frantzen and Marko Miladinović rolled to a 6-3 win over Chen and Brock Anderson.



On Saturday, Miladinović found success again with a win over the hosting University of San Diego’s Stian Klassan in three sets, 3-6, 6-4, 6-3. Brostrom Poulsen pushed Maxi Homberg from Pepperdine to three sets but lost in a 7-2 tiebreaker.



Sunday wrapped up the tourney with a great day for BU, as Baylor took both doubles matches on the day. Martin Breysach and Brostrom Poulsen defeated LSU’s Dong and Julien Penzlin, 6-3, while Miladinović and Frantzen fought to beat the Tennessee duo Filip Apltauer and James Newton, 7-6(4).



In Sunday’s singles, Miladinović took LSU’s Welsh Hotart to a 6-1, 6-3 decision. Shortly after, Breysach got in the singles win column against another Tiger, Ben Koch, 7-6(1), 6-4.



WHAT’S NEXT

The Bears compete all week in the ITF pro futures tournament hosted in Austin before splitting to compete at the newly-added Big 12/Pac 12 Challenge in Stillwater, Okla., and the San Antonio International Team Championship.
