STORYLINES
LEADING OFF
• Baylor Baseball hits the road for the second time in as many weekends to face Kansas in a three-game series at Hoglund Ballpark in Lawrence, Kan.
• The Bears are looking to snap a four-game losing skid after previously winning four of their last five.
• BU opened conference play with a series win over K-State, but now finds itself in the middle of the pack in the league standings after the second weekend of Big 12 action.
• Last weekend, home teams swept all three Big 12 series as an interesting flow chart emerged: Texas swept Texas Tech, who holds a series win over Oklahoma State, who swept Baylor, who won the series over K-State, who swept Oklahoma, who won the series over TCU, who swept Kansas. West Virginia is the only Big 12 team yet to play a conference game.
• Last week, the Bears won a wild Tuesday night game over Sam Houston, 7-6, after an hour and 10-minute rain delay before the start of the eighth inning.
• Freshman OF Caleb Bergman<https://baylorbears.com/sports/baseball/roster/caleb-bergman/12091> delivered the go-ahead RBI single in the bottom of the eighth as a pinch hitter, then started an 8-6-2-5 double play with no outs in the top of the ninth to prevent SHSU from scoring.
• Baylor pitchers struck out a season-high 18 batters on Friday at Oklahoma State, setting a program record for strikeouts in a Big 12 game.

• The Bears have eclipsed double-digit strikeouts on the mound in 17 of their 25 games so far this season.
• BU has punched out at least 13 opposing hitters in 10 games this year.
• Furthermore, Baylor has racked up 15 or more K's in four games this season, including a program record for Big 12 games with 18 at Oklahoma State on March 24.
• Baylor ranks second in the Big 12 and 13th nationally with 267 strikeouts.
• BU's 10.60 strikeouts per nine innings also ranks second the conference and 29th nationally.

• Over the last 10 games, Baylor's offense is hitting .282 and has raised its batting average 13 points, from .239 to .252.
• During conference games, BU is hitting .295 as a team, the fourth-best mark in the league.
