WACO, Texas – Baylor women’s basketball standout Caitlin Bickle competed in the State Farm College Team Skills and 3X3U Championships at the Bayou Music Center in downtown Houston Wednesday night.

A new event this year, the State Farm College Team Skills & 3X3U Championships featured a dynamic roster of graduating college seniors competing in a variety of competitions including team shootouts, a skills relay and 3x3 basketball.

“The College Team Skills and 3X3U Championship experience was amazing,” Bickle said. “Getting to network with players from other schools was awesome. I’ve never done a skills challenge before, and it was fun getting to compete in the hot shot challenge with my team. Having the opportunity to prep with my teammates and compete against each other, while also supporting the men’s players who were there, was also a ton of fun. Overall, it was a great experience, and I am so glad I had the opportunity to be a part of it.”

Bickle, a member of Team LoneStars, was joined by Brittany Davis (Alabama), Mercedes Staples (San Diego State) and Keishana Washington (Drexel) in the competition. The women’s final of the 3X3U National Championship went to overtime, when Bre’Amber Scott of Texas Tech hit a desperation 2-point shot as the shot clock expired to give Team Dream a thrilling 20-19 victory over Team LoneStars.

The State Farm College Team Skills & 3X3U Championships will be televised on Sunday, April 2, at 9 p.m. CT on ESPN2.

Bickle will make her way from Houston to Dallas to participate in the inaugural Above the Rim Summit in conjunction with the 2023 Women’s Final Four. Bickle is one of four individuals selected to represent the Big 12 and will be joined by Madi Williams (Oklahoma), Bre’Amber Scott (Texas Tech) and Madisen Smith (West Virginia) at the event.

The program is for senior student-athletes who have exhausted their collegiate athletics eligibility at the time of the program or graduate student-athletes who have recently finished their eligibility (maximum of one year removed) AND who are interested in obtaining more information about opportunities regarding life after basketball (playing professionally and/or other career opportunities connected to basketball). The program is focusing on student-athletes who demonstrate the potential to play professional basketball (WNBA and/or overseas). The program is set to kick off on Friday afternoon.

“I’m grateful to be selected to represent the Big 12 at the NCAA’s Above the Rim Summit at the women’s Final Four,” Bickle said. “I’m excited to learn from some of the best in the business so that I can be prepared for life after college.”
