STORY LINES

• Baylor Softball is starting on a four-game road swing that will begin at UT Arlington Tuesday, March 21 at Allan Saxe Field.

• The Bears hold the all-time record over the Mavericks 55-30-1.

• BU and UTA faced each other earlier this season and the Bears won, 8-0, over the Mavericks at Getterman Stadium in a five-inning run-rule.

• The Bears went 4-1 last week, splitting a midweek double header with South Dakota State, before sweeping future Big 12 foe Houston in a three-game series.

• Maintaining their position in the polls, Baylor is now ranked No. 22 in the D1Softball, Softball America and ESPN/USA Today polls, and come in at No. 20 in the NFCA coaches’ poll.

• BU is currently sitting at 25 in the NCAA Softball RPI standings.

• Baylor is currently third in the Big 12 in pitching ERA, with a 1.91 team ERA. No. 1 Oklahoma and No. 10 Texas are the two teams ahead of the Bears.

• BU also leads the Big 12 in sacrifice bunts (19), sacrifice fly’s (12) and stolen bases (52).

• McKenzie Wilson ended her on-base streak, which dated back to last season, at 35. That streak is good for third all-time in the Baylor record books, one short of tying Lindsey Cargill for second place at 36. She has since reached base in every game; her current streak is five games.

•  Wilson also leads the Big 12 in stolen bases (14), while Presleigh Pilon follows behind her in third place with 10.

• Dariana Orme picked up three wins on the week and posted a 0.91 ERA through 23.0 innings pitched. She struck out 27 batters and pitched three complete games with two shutout appearances. In the Bears 7-1 victory over Houston, Orme didn’t walk a single batter, that was the third time this season that she did not walk a single batter. She picked up Big 12 Pitcher of the Week honors for her performance during the previous week.

• Shaylon Govan leads the Bears with a .424 batting average with four doubles, seven home runs and 34 RBIs. She is currently 12th in the nation in runs batted in per game with 1.26 and leads the Big 12 with 34 already on the season.

• Govan is one of six Bears to have double digit RBIs already on the season. Emily Hott and Amber Toven follow her with 18, McKenzie Wilson has 13, Taylor Strain has 11 and Sydney Collazos has 10.

• Sydney Collazos has led the Bears over the last five games, batting .692, with nine hits, a home run and a double. She had a 1.000 slugging percentage and added five RBIs and 13 total bases. She picked up one walk and didn’t strikeout in a single plate appearance.

• The Bears hit six home runs as a team last week and turned five double plays in the three-game Houston series.

• BU has had 21 of 22 players see action during a game at some point this season.
• With a career record of 999-472, head coach Glenn Moore is looking for his 1,000th career win this season and is only one win away from hitting the milestone.
