WACO, Texas – Baylor junior Rosie Belsham has been named the Big 12 Women's Golfer of the Month for February, announced Tuesday by the conference office.

Belsham is the 13th-different BU player to win Big 12 Golfer of the Month and the second this season after Sera Hasegawa took home the honor in October. Tuesday's selection marks BU's first golfer of the month in the spring semester since Lauren Taylor in April 2013.

The Whitley Bay, England, native played the best golf of her career in February, notching her career-first win and a pair of top-5 finishes. She opened the month at the Collegiate Invitational in Guadalajara, out-dueling the sixth-ranked player in the country, Georgia's Jenny Bae, for a one-shot victory. Belsham shot a final-round 66 on the strength of eight birdies on a day where the stroke average was 74.97, helping the Bears to a 10-shot victory, Baylor's first of the season.

At the T. Hession Regional Challenge, Belsham played well against another strong field, finishing tied for fifth, thanks to a second-straight final round in the 60s. Belsham's final-round 67 included six birdies to help the Bears tie for third, while she finished 25-3-5 against other ranked golfers.

Belsham closed the month with a tie for third against one of the deepest fields of the season at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate. She opened with a bogey-free 69 at Long Cove Club, one of just three bogey-free rounds out of the 270 played that week in Hilton Head.

She wrapped the month finishing behind just four ranked golfers and recorded three-straight top-5 finishes for the first time in her career. Belsham is the first BU golfer with a stretch like that since Gurleen Kaur did the same last fall en route to Big 12 Golfer of the Month accolades in October of 2021.

Belsham and the Bears will return to action on March 24, at the PING/ASU Invitational in Phoenix, Ariz.
