LAST TIME OUT

Baylor moved to 3-1 in true road games this season with a 79-59 win at Texas Tech on Saturday afternoon. For the first time in Big 12 play, five Bears reached double figures led by Jaden Owens and Darianna Littlepage-Buggs, who each notched 16 in the win.

Sarah Andrews reached double figures for the eighth-straight game with 13 points, while Caitlin Bickle logged her 10th double digit performance of the season with 14 points and matched a career-high 12 rebounds to lead the Bears on the glass.

With less than a minute to play, Littlepage-Buggs secured her 10th rebound for her team-leading eighth double-double of the year. The double-doubles by Bickle and Littlepage-Buggs marked the third time this season, and second time in Big 12 action, that Baylor has had two players post double-doubles in a game.

BACK-TO-BACK

Littlepage-Buggs is coming off her fourth Big 12 Freshman of the Week honor, and second-straight,

entering the Kansas game. She is the only rookie in the league to earn the award four times this season, and the first Bear since the 2016-17 campaign to be recognized on four occasions when Lauren Cox earned the award the same number of times that year.

She leads all Division I rookies in the country in rebounds per game, sitting at 9.0 per contest. Her eight double-doubles on the year are tied for the third most in the Big 12.

SCOUTING KANSAS AND THE SERIES

Baylor holds the 38-8 advantage in the all-time series with Kansas and has won 18-straight meetings including the series opener in Lawrence on Jan. 7. Both the first meeting and the last meeting with the Jayhawks have been 75-62 victories by the Bears. The Bears are 18-2 all-time in Waco against the Jayhawks and haven’t lost to KU at home since the 1999-00 campaign.

The Jayhawks are led by Taiyanna Jackson, who was one of 15 players named to the 2023 Naismith Women’s Defensive Player of the Year Watch List on Jan. 24. She carries three-consecutive double-doubles into Wednesday’s contest and has 13 this season. Holly Kersgieter is KU’s leading scorer in Big 12 games, scoring 15.6 points per contest while ranking second on the team with 6.6 rebounds per game in league play. She’s coming off her third double-double of the season.
